| I'd say its bout time i posted again, mostly because its been a month since the last one
And since its been a month
Well now, lots of stuff has happened.
Week one of SSOT went by pretty quick, in fact i hardly remember it at
all except for where i stayed for hospitality, who i hung out with (the
crew), and that i played soccer at rec one day...i also remember them
going over the firs two statuses of the Chuch, i believe it was the
Assembly and The Body of Christ, but correct me if i'm wrong.
Since then, I had two weeks worth of reading, volunteering (yes old
people can be fun sometimes...especially when you get to call bingo for
them), soccer captains practices, and MARCHING BAND rehearsals. This
two week stint was culminated weekly with YP meetings that turned out
to be good, and enjoyable as always. I don't recall much about specific
days except for the day that i went rollerblading...so here we go.
Saturday July 16 @ 2-3pm, i'm out rollerblading, because its what i do.
So, as i'm going, a end up goin down this hill, on the side of the
road, facing the oncoming traffic lanes. To make a long story short, i
hit a 4 foot patch of gravel, messed my self up, skated to the nearest
public restroom about half a mile away, and commenced to wash myself
off. Then i skated home, and bandged myself up real good. We had a YP
meeting in Wilmington that night, so i kinda looked all funny like when
i went there, because it was like i'm all banged up with stuff on my
chin and hands...ya know.
Anyway, on monday, we left for Franklin, and me still bandaged managed
to recieve quite a few sympathy points from multiple sisters, much to
my own embarrassment and chagrin...its hard to look dignified when
people fuss over you...well not so much so, but thats not the point.
The point is, that i had to give TWO count em TWo reviews that week. on
Tuesday morning, Still bandaged up mind you, i gave a review of week
one, covering the Ground of the Church and the differences between the
Universal and Local Church. I described in detail the examples of how
the universal church is impractical because it encompasses all the
believers in space And time, and that there is no such meeting hall big
enough to fit them all into. Much more so is the local church which is
the expression of the universal churches in each locality. These local
churches do not have a name, but rather take on the name of their
city/borough. The Church in
Wilmington/Philadelphia/Franklin/NYC/Manalapan/Newington/Cambridge are
all examples of such cities with a local church situated inside. I
described also how the ground of the church and the foundation of the
church are different. The ground is the location/site where the church
is built. in actuality, we don't build the church physically, for the
Church is NOT a physical building, but rather a spiritual dwelling
place of the Lord. The ground of the church is of the Lords choosing,
and not of our own. ONE CITY, ONE CHURCH. Don't get me wrong, all the
believers in every city are members of the Church in that city. The
matter is whether or not they actually meet on the proper ground. If
they do not meet on the proper ground, they are not building the Body
Of Christ according to God's desire but rather their own desire and God
does not view this gently. Meeting on the improper ground is considered
a Sin in the Bible. Recall the sin of Jeroboam. He created two other
worship centers for the children of Israel that were not in Jerusalem
on Mount Moriah (Mount Moriah was the place God chose for his temple).
Jeroboam placed one worship center in Bethel and one in Dan. The
reason that God does not like this is that it creates division. There
is only one God, therefore there should only be one Church, one Body of
Christ, one Bride, one Kingdom; not a bunch of little members running
around doing as they please. God's Eternal Economy is to make man the
same as He, as in Life and Nature, but NOT in the Godhead; and to make
Himself one with man, and man one with Him, thus to be enlarged and
Expanded for his Expression, That all His divine attributes may be
expressed in human virtue. This is what God desires. In the Bible,
there are many truths. 1 Thessalonians 5:23 says "and may your spirit
and soul and body be preserved complete, without blame at the coming of
our Lord Jesus Christ." This proves that we are a trichotemy, meaning
that we are composed of three parts, Body Soul and Spirit. Genesis
1:26-27 describe God's purpose and economy, stating that "and God said,
let us make man in our image according to our likeness and let Him have
dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of heaven and over
the cattle and over all the earth, and over ever creeping thing that
creeps upon the earth. and God created man, in the image of God He
created him, male and female He created Them." The two most important
words are image and dominion, for they show God's purpose. Image is for
Expression, and Dominion is for Representation. A practical example of
this is a glove. A glove is made in the image of a hand, and thus when
our hand fills the glove, the glove expresses the hand. The hand may
point at somebody, and when the person comes, you know that the person
saw the glove point and came to greet the person who wears that glove.
This is the expression. Dominion is Representation. When you represent
someone, you have the authority, given by that person to represent
them. in this way, God gave us dominion over the earth, because He
wishes us to Express and Represent Him here. however, we can only
express and represent Him in life and nature, because he is The
Authority. No one has authority except through Him. He wants us to
eventually become like Him, but not to have His authority. This is
where satan made his mistake. Satan tried to take the Authority away
from God and thus God cast him out of heaven. however, Satan is now a
thorn in God's side, always aggravating the Body, trying to keep it
from growing, damaging its members. WE are all members of the Body of
Christ, and none of us is insignificant, because we each have our own
unique function. Some of us might be eyes, or ears, or a nose, or
hands, feet, legs, etc...we each have our own function and we must each
function according to God's will in order for the Body to be built up.
A practical way to grow is to feed and eat a lot. Spiritually speaking
this is just Calling on the name of the Lord, Praying, Pray-Reading,
and other kinds of Fellowshipping. Through our fellowship with God and
our fellow brothers and sisters in the Lord, we can grow up together in
the Body of Christ. Ephesians 4 says that "But holding to truth in
love, we may grow up in Him in all things who is the Head, Christ. Out
from whom the Body being joined together and knit together by every
joint of the rich supply and through the operation of the measure of
each one part, causes the growth of the Body unto the building up of
itself in Love." The All Things, means All Things. We must learn to
grow up in Him in all things, in happiness and joy, in sorrow and
dissapointment as well. There is an example where ten Lepers called out
to the Lord from a distance, and beseeched Him to cure their sickness,
and He told them to present themselves before the priest and they would
be healed. They did so, and when this happened, only one of the lepers
returned to the Lord to thank Him. This shows that sometimes when the
Lord gives us something that we want we actually grow farther from Him
instead of closer. Therefore when He takes something away or gives
something to us, no matter what, we must grow up in Him and thank Him
for his provision whether good or bad. Growing up into Him is part of
our Perfecting, which is why I can no longer complain about having to
have given 4 reviews throughout this summer school, because I realize
that through my speaking, I was being perfected. It takes time and
pressure for an ugly lump of coal to be formed into a diamond
beautiful diamond. In a similar way, there is (according to Matthew
Ferreira) only one good use of petrified wood. This use is to show us,
that Petrified wood is something that has undergone transformation.
When wood decays this is caused by the air, heat, and by time. however,
when a tree falls into a mineral rich river, it is kept from these
decaying elements. it is trapped in a place where it can stay suspended
in time as the river washes over it. Over the course of time, the
minerals that are in the river begin to deposit themselves on the wood
and slowly but surely the wood is removed and in its place these
minerals collect and after the process is complete it forms petrified
wood. This petrified wood is a type of what we must become. WE must be
transformed by Christ's life. We must stay in the spiritual flow so
that Christ's life can wash over us and transform us slowly from
something wooden to something completely different even though it looks
the same. Real wood and petrified wood look the same, but their nature
is different, this is what we must strive for. This growth is the
growth that God desires. The other statuses of the Church are the
Kingdom of God, The Dwelling Place/Household of God, The New Man, The
Bride/Counterpart, and the Lampstand. these different statuses are all
shown throughout the new testament. however, one of the main premises
of the Summer School of the Truth was the matter concerning the
overcomers. God said that each of us who believes shall not perish but
shall have eternal life. This means that at one time or another, we
will overcome sin and death and live eternally with God. However there
is a catch. Will we overcome in this age, or the Next age? in this age
it is possible to become an overcomer in a matter of years, if we give
our hearts and reset our hearts each day for the Lord. But in the Next
Age, when the current and previous overcomers go in to the 1000 year
wedding feast, those who have not yet overcome will have 1000 years to
do so. This is the Outer Darkness where there is the weeping and
gnashing of teeth. It is much better to overcome by buying the oil, and
gaining Christ in this age and go up to the wedding feast, than to weep
and gnash our teeth for 1000 years in outer darkeness rueing each and
every moment that we did not turn to the Lord. This will be determined
when we are at the Judgement seat of Christ, and if we are not
overcomers by the end of this age, we Shall become overcomers, just in
the next age. how much more enjoyable for us to go up to the Wedding.
Saints there will be a glorious wedding of the Church the Bride and
Christ. for those who do not attend, they will be spending a millenium
being perfected in outer darkness. We must give ourselves to Love the
Lord each and everyday.
returning to the point about One City, One Church, i feel that i did not clarify this enough.
in Revelation 1:11 and Titus 1:5 it shows clearly that there is only
one church in each city. This is shown when the apostle John says "
What you see write in a scroll and send it to the seven
churches: to Ephesus, and to Smryna, and to Pergamos, and to Thyatira,
and to Sardis, and to Philadelphia, and to Laodicea." He told the
disciples to send his messages not to the churches in those cities, but
to those cities themselves. This indicates that there was only one
church meeting in each city. So also is the practice in the Lord's
Recovery. We do everything according to the Bible. it never matters
whether or not we are right or wrong, what matters is that we follow
the Bible. If the Bible says that we meet one City one Church, then we
meet according to that word. The Bible is the Word of God. And to this
word must we adhere. The Church is not in Denomination, we have no
special practice or teaching, we do not support the use of Rock music
to attract young people, only Christ is what should attract the young
people, we overcome the work of the Nicolaitans who have a hierarchy in
the Church, because this destroys the Body. The Nicolaitans practically
today are the Roman Catholics, because of their hierarchy. They have
priests who minister to the laiety, the laiety being the common people.
The people who go to mass do not function according to their
obligation, but sit and listen to the words of a priest. Rather in the
Recovery it is essential to function through our prophesying and
service. both of these things are practical because they are ways of
building up the Body. Prophesying is a way to overflow and feed the
saints spiritually, because it is us ministering Christ to the other
believers. and Service helps to build the Church, because our service
is an expression of our willingness to work for Christ. also in terms
of Prophesying, we are all Priests. the definition of a priest is a
person who brings man to God and God to man, a person who is One with
God. In the old testament, the Tabernacle of the Lord was composed of
three parts, the Outer Court, the Holy Place and the Holy of Holies.
This is a picture of us as well, the Outer Court symbolizing our Body,
the Holy Place symbolizing our Soul and the Holy of Holies symbolizing
our Spirits. In the times of Aaron and the other High priests, the Holy
of Holies could only be entered once a year, for in the Holy of Holies
was the Ark of the Covenant and God Himself. on the Day of Atonement
each year, the high priest through the sprinkling of much blood was
allowed to enter into the Holy of Holies and bear witness to God.
anyone else who tried to enter this Holy of Holies was killed
immediately. However, This is not the case. in the New Testament when
Jesus offered up His soul to God for the forgiveness and redemption of
our sins, it says that the Veil of the Temple was rent in Two from top
to bottom. This signifies that the barrier between our soul and spirit
is no longer there. Now instead of only once a year, the believers can
go in and contact Christ at any time. This is how it is today, because
of the Lord's Process. God incarnated and became a man. He lived on the
earth for 33.5 years and then was crucified. He then was buried for
three days then he resurrected and ascended and became the Life Giving
Spirit which then comes into our Hearts. Through the Life Giving
Spirit, we contact God with our human spirit, simply by calling upon
the name of the Lord. Calling upon His Name gives us his presence. When
we call and pray to Him, our prayer should be concerning whatever is on
our hearts. In this way God touches us uniquely, and we pray for what
He desires. Praying is like spiritual drinking, and when we Pray Read,
this is like spiritual eating. Pray reading is when you take verse(s)
from the Bible and pray them to the Lord, phrase by phrase or word by
word, and this is like chewing, we are chewing the Word of God and so
our Spirit is filled more and more through each bite that we take in.
This is how to practically grow in Christ. Through the eating and
drinking in spirit.
I'm not sure how much i covered or what i left out, so if anyone has
anything to add, by all means comment me, and add your burden. Through
every word i felt the Lord flowing out through me, and i believe this
past hour or so of typing has helped me revive some of what I lost
through a two hour soccer practice today.
Amen Saints,
Lord be with you all~
i'll add more later after i reread my notes
